8 Ways of Chakra Meditation for Beginners

Do you know how the meditation chakra is? There are seven main chakras or energy centres in the human body. Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning "wheel." The chakras are similar to wheels in that they are spinning eddies of energy. They are powerhouses located within your body, where you receive, transmit, and process life energy. Chakra meditation helps align and balance your energy.

8 Ways of Chakra Meditation for Beginners

1. Start by finding a comfortable position

Chakra meditation begins by sitting in a comfortable position with your back straight but not tense. Then focus on each part of your body, from your feet to the top of your head. As you do this, relax that body part and let the stress melt away.

2. Focus on your breath

The next step in chakra meditation is to focus on the breath. Please don't force it, but let the breath become steady and deep. If your mind is distracted, try to return to the breath and maintain focus on each inhalation and exhalation you take. Imagine oxygen going into the lungs and flowing into the bloodstream. Imagine it could nourish all the muscles, organs, and cells of your body and then be able to flush out the toxins from your body which are expelled with every breath.

3. Visualize perfect heart rate and body function

See how all the pieces work together in harmony. See how the breath sustains all these parts and the body as a whole. Realize how the breath is the life-giving force of your entire body.

4. Imagine life too, like energy

Next, in chakra meditation, you have to imagine life can give you energy from the air you breathe. See this energy as a yellowish-orange colour. Imagine this energy covering your entire body and permeating your aura. As this energy approaches your atmosphere, imagine the aura growing more assertive, brighter, and filled with this incredible energy. Do this step gradually, allowing the aura to grow more brilliant little by little and keeping this energy flowing with every breath you take.

5. Energizes each disc

The next thing you have to do is energize each of your discs. Start with the root chakra in the lower back. Imagine the energy spinning clockwise and the energy you breathe feeding this vortex and making it more robust and brighter. Imagine another source of energy coming from the earth. It is the same life-giving energy and adds to the energy swirling in the root chakra.

6. Sacred Chakra

Then one by one, the solar plex chakra, the heart chakra, the throat chakra, the head chakra, and finally the crown chakra, each imparting life energy. Take your time with this, and don't worry about spending more time on one chakra if necessary. It is highly recommended to always do it from the bottom, in order, and not jump over it. Each chakra will affect the other chakras and energize the higher chakras before the lower chakras have a detrimental effect.

7. Visualize all the chakras

The final step in chakra meditation is to visualize all the chakras. Imagine your disk as being filled with energy coming from your breath and rising from the earth. Remember to watch your chakras and auras become brighter, clearer, and supercharged from this life-giving energy.
