Yoga Is Absolutely Wonderful !!!

Yoga is absolutely wonderful. Yoga is the perfect opportunity to be curious about who you are. It is not only an amazing way to keep your body healthy and feeling great but if you connect to it a little deeper it can become a whole lot more.

Yogis seek to experience the spirit or the energy all around us, when we are connecting to this energy we are helping to balance out our inner emotions and learning how to harness them.

Yoga in its truest form gives us time to quiet the mind and truly listen to our inner selves, really feeling the flow of energy all around us. Yoga encourages the synchronization between body, mind and the spirit, through meditation, breathing and physical postures, allowing us to form a deeper connection to our inner selves and the world around us.

Do you meditate? 

There are eight limbs of yoga, and the seventh is called Dhyana which isn’t quite meditation but often translates to sittin’ your keester on the meditation cushion and really committing regularly in modern society. It can be SO challenging to discipline your mind to be still for some time, but the reward is well worth the effort! There are too many mental, physical, and and emotional health benefits to list but you might be amazed how good you feel after just 5 or 10 minutes of meditation.

I practiced for 2.5 years before I even attempted an inversion. I was terrified of flipping upside down and convinced myself that these types of poses would never be possible for me - blaming it on my body type and my lack of upper body strength.

It’s never the body that needs convincing, it’s the mind. One day out of nowhere I decided I would try it, never before attempted, and popped right on up there like it was nothing. I had convinced myself that something so simple was so difficult. 

As they say, what happens on the mat, happens off the mat. This allowed me to look at other things in my life that I was convincing myself were so difficult that actually weren’t.

Is there something that you’re convincing yourself is impossible? It’s possible that if you get over the fear, and just try, it might be way more simple than you ever imagined.

Stop scrolling for a moment. Put your hands on your heart and be thankful for 3 things in your life.

1. The ability to breathe. You don’t notice it , but without it you can’t survive even 5 minutes. You are healthy. Your air is clean. You can fulfill your lungs with oxygen, be thankful.

2. For food. Every plate with food is a source of life, energy and healing power. Close your eyes and feel how much importance it takes in your life. Just to eat healthy Every. Single. Day.

3. Be thankful for the ability to think, dream and achieve your goals. Without clear mind you can’t move on. How good that you got it today. You can sit , dream about something, stand up and go for it. Animals can’t, mentally sick people can’t, but you can. Appreciate that.

Life doesn’t treat you bad. You choose how you wanna look at things happening in your life.

Of course we can have a lot of bad luck, which can be super unfair, but we still have a choice: being negative about it, or try to get the best out of what actually does work then. 

It’s seen that people who are really struggling, are in constant chronic pain or living in poor conditions, are still some of the happiest people on earth. Makes you think right.

Myself for instance living with daily chronic pain due to post concussion syndrome which limits my life, and yet I have never had a more positive mindset! 

How ? Yoga, meditation & mindfulness. 

With that being said; sometimes we literarily need to be upside down to see things from a new perspective. And yay for inversions bringing us that opportunity.
